Couple Games of DeGeneration!

I was thinking of bringing the ol’ 2004 DeGeneration back to life for a couple days by having my clan, The Honor Squad, jump on and have some fun.

I actually tried to log in the server since I still have all my original DG files, but it doesn’t work. Just let me know what I need to do and I will try and join you! Hope everything is well your way! :)

I dunno man. I did the following just now and it worked for me.
1.Run Return to Castle Wolfenstein
2.Switch to Multiplayer Mode
3.Press the ~ key (tilde, next to 1)
4.In the console type ‘connect 75.102.38.227:27960′
Are you on Steam? If so add me ‘Tunnleram’ – Going out but will be back tonight.

Hmmm, well I can play by making a server and I did check and it is running 1.11. When I try to connect DG starts and it tries to download the file degeneration/mp_generator.pk3 because it says I am missing it. Of course auto download is disabled and it says I have to get the file elsewhere. I looked in my DG folder and I have quite a few pk3 files but nothing called that

I had put some of my non-DG maps up there to play, but I removed them to make things easier. Give it a try now.

Sorry I had to post here, but I can’t post on your clans website. Even though you may know all this Tunn…the last time the file dowloaded all the way as I’m guessing you changed the server settings for the time allowed to do that. Then it started to download another which was 158 mb and was going to take 4 hours plus to download…after that I think you stopped it as then it went back to the wolf main menu and listed a bunch of errors of files that I have but with the wrong checksum. I’ll try to make it in the morning but I have some things to do with my daughter and go to work, but I will stop in tomorrow evening.

Another thing I thought I would mention…earlier in the week I was on there and did change maps and played quite a few of the DG maps without incident, but I never let it change itself or change it to the “next map”. I always did a vote and picked the map out of the list.

I was going to hop on this morning and jump around on different maps, but I see the server is down.

Yeah, unfortunately the server was disabled since I loaded a server.cfg with more than 16 players specified! :( I replaced all the server files last night and that was the default server.cfg. I changed it, but now I have to wait for them to enable the server again. What a pain.
Anyhow, thanks for your efforts as always.
Here’s what seems to be the problem.
Somehow the files the client has are not the same files as the server or so it thinks. This causes one of two things to happen.
1) Download of the different files starts if you have downloads on.
2) It disconnects you and warns you about the different files if you have downloads off.
The situations you mentioned was mostly due to me restarting the server.
So, I completely removed the DeGeneration folder from the server and uploaded the files again. It should work fine now as soon as the host enables the server again. Not sure when that will be unfortunately, but hopefully it’s before 9pm tonight.

Just happen to notice you had the server up and everything seems fine as far as the graphics go, but I did notice that I couldn’t ready up…it’s says press ??? to go to ready. I know it use to be F5…I didn’t try and change the map though in case you hadn’t got that far with it yet. ;)

Thanks for the thought, but the moment I change maps it gives me errors that files are different. It’s making me nuts. I’m not sure what’s causing it :(
I have to find time to troubleshoot it.

oh, btw the ??? just means it’s not bound to a key.

Yeah I figured that maybe you just hadn’t set the key to be bound yet or does that mean I have to set it on my end?

Yeah you have to set it on your end. It’s in the options for controls.
